Photo-real CGI, made by architects from the drawings up.Regent Cinema — elevated exterior

Introduction

Images for planning, marketing and sales, built from the scheme you have drawn.

BRL Design is a RIBA Chartered practice based in Plymouth, working across Devon and Cornwall. Alongside our own projects, we produce photo-real CGIs for architects, agents and developers who need images for a planning application, a sales launch or a funding pitch.

Every image starts from the planning drawings or the SketchUp model. Before anything is rendered we list what is in each view, from openings and materials to ground surfaces and levels, so the finished image shows the scheme as drawn.

From model to image

The model fixes the building.
The render adds the rest.

Drag across the image. We render from the model or drawings you already have, so the camera, openings and proportions stay yours. Materials, landscape and light are agreed with you before the final images are upscaled.

Regent Cinema

A former cinema converted to apartments, with a shop at street level

Elevated exterior

Nine views issued over two rounds in 2026: the elevated exterior, the street approach, the ground-floor shop and the undercroft, followed by four apartment interiors, from an open-plan living space to a top-floor bedroom opening onto a sea-view terrace.

The model fixed the openings, the arched windows and the structure. Each interior was then furnished and lit to suit its outlook, and the exteriors set in late-afternoon sun to show the building in its street.

Castle Hill Park

Light industrial units near Bodmin, rendered for the project architect

Central green

Five exterior views of a proposed business park at Lanivet, near Bodmin, produced for the project architect from their SketchUp model.

The model fixed the profiled cladding, stone panels and timber colonnades. The landscape follows the approved planting scheme, with wildflower lawns, granite boulders and pollinator planting between the units.

Re-rendered

We have gone back to CGIs from earlier BRL schemes and re-rendered them, keeping the architecture as designed and improving the light, materials and planting. The same view can be issued in daylight and at dusk.

How a commission runs

What you send us, and what you get back

  1. 01

    Brief

Send the drawings or SketchUp model, the views you want and what the images are for: planning, marketing or sales.

  2. 02

    Geometry check

We list what is in each view before rendering, so nothing appears that is not in the design.

  3. 03

    Draft images

A first set for comment on camera, light, materials and styling.

  4. 04

    Revisions

Comments are worked through view by view until each image is signed off.

  5. 05

    Final files

High-resolution images for print, web and planning submissions.
